IoT (Internet of Things) is the network of smart objects open to exchange data with each other. This term was coined by British entrepreneur, Mr. Kevin Ashton, in 1999. Gartner defines IoT as a “network of physical objects that contain embedded technology to communicate and sense or interact with their internal states or the external environment.” The major hardware components of an IoT system are Sensors, Computers (microcontrollers), Communication Interfaces, Network Infrastructure, Cloud Infrastructure, and UI devices. Major software components are Device-Based Apps (Embedded Applications), Network Utilities, Firmware, Server/Cloud-Based Applications, Database Applications, and Database Management Tools.

There is no pre-requisite to join IoT for Beginners and IoT for Managers training programs. IoT for Beginners is a pre-requisite to join the IoT Intermediate Training program. IoT Analytics is a special and niche training program designed for data scientists to upgrade their skills. IoT Security is again a specialized training program, suitable for experienced security professionals. There are no prerequisites for IoT Analytics and IoT Security training programs.
